Danish tourist, 55, slashed in face on Upper West Side: NYPD

A 55-year-old tourist was slashed in the face on the Upper West Side Wednesday morning in another startling Manhattan street attack, police said.
Police said the victim, who is visiting here from Denmark, was assaulted at about 10:23 a.m. near W. 86th St. and Columbus Ave.
The victim was taken by medics to Mount Sinai Morningside in stable condition.
It wasn’t immediately clear what — if anything — provoked the attack.
A surveillance video of the incident shows three men walking by. Soon after they pass out of the video frame, a young man clutching a blade is seen running furiously after them and then he, too, disappears out of the frame. The attacker then reappears in the video frame, appears to shout something angrily back toward his victim and then runs off in the direction from which he came.
The attacker is being sought by police. He was described as white, with dark curly hair and a full beard and was wearing a gray T-shirt, dark shorts and light-colored sneakers.
On Monday, three people were stabbed to death in a horrifying string of unprovoked attacks in Manhattan, spanning from Chelsea to Kips Bay to near the United Nations. Ramon Rivera, 51, has been charged with murder in each of those three attacks.
