"J. VEYRAT, Paris" gold embossed maker mark on the interior of the old case for this exquisite antique cigar and cheroot holder, "14 rue Ramputeau" the address of the vendor. Rue Ramputeau would be a street in the Marais, not far from the Musée National Picasso, Paris, and a fine neighborhood for centuries. At this location today you will find Terres de Cafe, a 4.5-star (customer rated) restaurant, and I'm including a photo of it just for the charm. The amber is a deep honey color, gorgeous, and trimmed with an 18k gold shield with monogram, "C L", and a thick substantial gold ring at the end. Slightly longer than 3.5", with a diameter at tip of more than .75". The interior diameter is .5", for use with smaller cigars up to .5".  Amber is fossilized resin of certain species of ancient extinct trees.
Very good for age and type, it is a beauty, but you can see it has been used and cherished, and while it's been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized, it does have teeth marks at the lip. With its original leather-clad case to protect it for a century or more, the case shows age, but is fully intact. Case or etui is 4" long, 1.25" widest, a little more oval than round. Please don't ask me to weigh the gold.  It is acid tested at 18k. Look for our many cigar-related cases and holders, presenters and humidor, sold separately.

Insurance has been eliminated as an option by ebay, forcing us sellers to either ship your items without insurance or assume that expense also. We always insure our items BUT, more importantly, pack them extremely well knowing that most are not replaceable. Our shipping days are Tuesday and Friday, paid items will be shipped on the first shipping day after payment is received (except when special circumstances exist). We prefer to use USPS whenever possible, and require all packages to be insured. If you prefer another method of shipment, please mention it. We charge only actual expense of shipment/insurance, except in the case of larger items which must have special wood crates built. Wood crate charge, when applicable, is a flat .00 in addition to actual postage & insurance charges.

8.75% sales tax applicable as of April 1st, 2009 for shipments & sales within the state of California, no exceptions. If you are within CA and are a dealer buying for resale, you must provide us your active resale certificate # and acknowledgment of intent to resell or we will have to collect sales tax.
