Description

Antique Majolica Match Holder/Striker and Cigar Holder
Charming figure of a young girl with a basket on her back which serves as a match holder. By her side is a hollow tree stump serving as a cigar holder.
There is a match striker area near the base at the back
Condition
This is a delicate piece and does have a few minor flaws after all of these years
There are two small chips on the rim of the tree stump and one on the rim of the basket. Some slight flaking at fingers and hair (see photos).
There is a hairline crack on the girl's right ankle.
8 1/4 " tall. Base measures 5 3/8 " by 4 3/4 ".
There is a makers mark impressed on the underside which seems to read EF 92. May indicate a date of 1892.
