Leather Cigar Holder INV 2074 red
Rare vintage leather cigar holder with wooden base. The sailing ship is red leather, hand-stitched together with gold thread. Brass anchor and chain. Bottom is stamped "Made in France.”
Tag reads: “Production Créations A.F.F. Paris."
Purchased in Paris in the 1940's but is unused.
It has a brass rod through it with a knob on top. Sail spins on rod and can be moved up and down. Size:
Approx. 10" tall
Could be used as a container for pens, pencils, toothpicks, swizzle sticks, etc. A matching green ship can be viewed in our inventory under search: INV 2073
Provenance: From the residual estate inventory of The Golden Griffin Gallery/Arts Inc., operated in New York City, New York from the 1950s to the 1970s. It dealt primarily with contemporary American and European artists.
