Vintage Cigar/ Cigarette Holder marked Italy 1.5" long 10mm opening

Vintage Cigar or Cigarette Holder
marked Italy
approx 1.5" long.   For cigarettes or very thin cigars (best I can measure opening is 10mm diameter)
black w/ gold-toned metal ring
Found among my FIL's many pipes, am selling as "used"
but we can't recall seeing him ever use a holder.
